Hello, My name is Tim Grootjans.

I’m the CEO of ZÆT, where I build ventures that make life better.
I’m also CTO of CY:ONS, a bold innovation hub focused on next-gen mobility platforms.
I serve as COO of VerseBikes, where we develop practical micromobility solutions.
And I’m R&D Director at Route Assembly, where we’re building a new, local-first approach to bicycle manufacturing.

Whether launching new platforms or helping grow early-stage ventures, I thrive on shaping ideas into real-world impact.

From Ideas to Impact

I began my journey as an industrial designer, but the world of entrepreneurship quickly pulled me in.

In 2020, I helped launch the Babymaker e-bike, which became the top product on Indiegogo that year. In 2024, I received the Golden China Bicycle Design Award, a milestone that reflected years of working hands-on across product, production, and business design. That same year, I had the opportunity to speak at Formnext 2024, sharing insights on material innovation in the bicycle industry, a topic I believe will reshape how we build and scale the next generation of bikes.

But more important than awards is momentum. The last years I’ve co-founded multiple ventures, participated in accelerator programs like EIT Urban Mobility’s IRP4IMPACT, and partnered with teams pushing the boundaries of mobility across Europe.
